How much meat will I actually receive with a half cow?
Your half cow will yield approximately 200 lbs of beef! We send 115 lbs of ground beef conveniently packed in 1 lb packs and 85 lbs of roasts and steaks ready for weeknight dinners or family get togethers!
How is the meat packaged and shipped?
All of your beef will be hand cut by our butchers, vacuum sealed and frozen before shipment! From there, our shipping team will pack your half cow in thick-walled styrofoam coolers that are filled with dry ice and placed inside cardboard boxes. A half cow will show up in 7 large boxes right to your doorstep via FedEx.
How much freezer space do I need for a half cow?
We recommend 8-10 cubic feet of freezer space for a half cow.
Can I customize the cuts or are they pre-selected?
Although our half cows typically come with a standard set of cuts that we have found are the most popular with our customers, we can always custom cut a half cow to different specifications! Thicker steaks, less ground beef, smaller roasts: no problem at all! Each half cow is hand cut to order by our team of butchers so customization is not a problem at all!
